Is anybody running a B&M or whatever brand aux trans cooler with a fan? If so wher did you mount it and how did you mount it. How well does it work? Thanks. JIM

i have the hi-tek cooler with fan on a E99 and it still does not cool that great. The fan is set to turn on at 175 but when it kicks on it reads 190 on my gauge. I don't know if the gauge is reading different temps because its in the side of the trans. I have not been happy with the cooler. I just picked up a 6.0 cooler and am going to change. Plus the cost of the hi-tek cooler and all the wiring was way more. Wished I had just done the 6.0 cooler first.

Were did you mount it? Is it getting enough air?

Is the 6.0 cooler bigger than the 6.4? I know it is bigger than the older and gas models , not sure,

Are you experiencing overheating? I have never seen my trans gauge move past the spot it gets after getting up to operating temp. I have 37's and have towed some pretty good weight in some pretty hilly terrain with the Spartan 275 tune and like I said before the gauge stays in the dead middle like it always does. Is this gauge one of those "dummy" gauges? I did switch the ATF to Amsoil so that might help a little.

I pull a 14k 5th wheel and live in upstate new york, so long steep hills in the Adirondacks and Green moutains of vermont tend to make trans temp skyrocket once the converter unlocks at slower speeds. The factory trans temp gauge doesnt move until about 220F. And the fan doesnt kick in until about that temp also. For a short time I have seen 240 when climbing up in to Lake Placid. I plan on mounting the cooler under the truck , possibly between the rt side rocker and frame or under the bed. Also wiring the fan to the upfitter switches for intermittent on demand operation. Let me know if anyone has any mounting ideas or pics of installs. JIM

Does anyone know the Size of the trans cooler line fitting on the rear, return cooler line. I want to adapt the cooler to this port and I dont want to cut the lines. I have the cooler mounted on driver side between the transfer case and the fuel tank. Mounted to floor and front of fuel tank guard. Fan is all wired in to #4 upfitter switch. All i need to do now is run the cooler lines but I need a female and a male barbed 1/2 inch fittings that will fit the factory lines. I know the line is about 1/2 od but dont know the fitting size, it isnt 1/2 npt. Any ideas or P.N. would help. Thanks.
