Nope... never factory made. But there have been sevral custom made... chop the frame shorten the driveshaft drop a short bed on it. Most are 2WD's... lifted 4x4 would be sweet.

It's funny you mention them. When I was in Sicily and Africa they have 6.4s to tow planes with, with a wheel base as long as a smart car I swear. I really want one.
Okay, I have to ask....'why' would anyone prefer the short bed? Long bed = more room to carry crap, longer wheelbase means more stable pulling that trailer, more stable in the snow and ice. Unless you're using the truck for towing aircraft, or for driving around tight parking lots all day, I don't get it? Off road, the short bed would have an advantage going over steep bumps or turning around.....but they just strike me as.....well....too short. Some crew cabs look ridiculous with a short bed. Perhaps it's just a matter of personal taste in looks, just like women!
If you want a truck for work, a longbox is great. If you want a truck for driving around, or a race truck, shortbox is lighter and easier to maneuver. Not everybody is going to use their truck to pack the box full of hay or gravel. Wanna know what I haul in the back of my truck? Nothing, that's why I have carpet back there :hehe:
Yeah, a regular cab short bed is a hot setup for a toy. I want to do a 2x4 and lower it, make it handle and go real fast :hehe: on thhe other hand my DD is a cclb and it rarely tows or has anything in the bed. I just think the ccsb proportions look off. Mine rides great though.
I want to say i remember a thread aboutthe setup your asking about being produced in mexico. There was a gorgeous sonic blue one that had window stickers in the pics.
personally i love short beds and no offense to the guys that have long beds but my dad has always told me long beds are for old men lol. i have a 36ft toy hauler and also have a 24ft flat bed trailer so no need to pack the bed. and yes every parking spaces are getting smaller and smaller trust me i know i was a land surveyor for many years so the short bed takes the win there, long beds ride and perform like complete chit off road and on road too and with diesel prices the way they are i like to not have to drag that extra weight around
No offense taken. Everyone has their own opinions and preferences. I personally like being able to close my tailgate with a load of plywood or my dirt bikes.
My last truck was a cclb and I loved it, because it looked great. ccsb trucks just look goofy, like Mitch said, they're out of proportion. But yes, my current truck is a ccsb :hehe:
