My F250 XLT didn't come w/ the overhead console w/ the temp/compass in it. Is there someway that I can get that installed or get something else so that I'll have that function available to me.
Thanks Very Much.
Eliminate dangerous glare from rear-approaching headlights with this sophisticated night driving safety accessory from Gentex Corporation. Special sensors and electronic circuitry detect glare and automatically dim the mirror accordingly. An accurate self-calibrating compass keeps you on track; exterior temperature display warns you with an ICE indicator when outside temperature is at or below 37 degrees.

They have a link on there website for instructions, but you have to login? I dont get it. Anyway, I would imagine you will need to run power to it, and get a leed outside for temp? It mounts on the windshield just like a regular mirror.
I Installed One There Great Works Flawless, If You Decide To Go For It I Would Recommend That You Buy Only A Gentex Brand Mirror They Are The Same Mirrors That Are Used By Most Of The Manufacturers. The Install Is Pretty Easy They Give Good Instructions The Temp Probe And Power Lead All Come With It. I Think That There Is A Plug Up Under The Headliner That May Be Able To Be Used To Get Power From, I'm Thinking That They Use One Wiring Harness And Just Squirrel Away What Isn't Needed
I decided to get the mirror the dealer offers, my sales rep said he'd get a lower price for me. I am going to get it installed the same date the srvc dept sets up my block heater.
Did you ever get it installed? How do you like it & does it work good? I would like to have this option also - what would I be looking to pay (if you don't mind me asking)?
Yeah I got it installed, and it works great. I had a problem with it about a week after it was installed, one morning it wouldn't read anything, found out the sensor had gone bad, but took it to the dealer and they fixed it right up. It really is convient knowing the temp and compass direction. It ran me about $325 installed, they aren't cheap, but they're worth it.

I have wanted the same thing. But mine has a sunroof, it has a plastic roof console looking thing. Is that where they are located from the factory, or is it in the mirror? If it is in the roof console, can I just swap it out?
