I just got my 2000 F250 and it started making a whirring noise whenever I hit the brake or even when I am stopped and an intersection waiting to go. What could it be any help would be greatly appreciated
ya I do feel a vibration I feel like a dumbass for not checking the fluid I will go do that thanks for the help. Keep it coming guy ill update when I get back from outside lol
is it more of a squeaking noise like it could be your brakes or rotors? does it only happen when your trying sot stop or when your at a stop light as well just holding down the brake pedal?
Ya I'm gonna have my mechanic take a look Wednesday hopefully at least I can tell him where to look...
Thanks for all your help guys especially StealthAutomotive
Keep any ideas coming just in case its not one of these and then I know where to keep looking
If your ps pump is making noise under hard brake application, and your ps fluid level is good, I'd put money on it that your pump has failed. Do you have a vibration in the brake pedal and does the pedal seem to travel too far? Seen lots of these pumps fail.
Ya my friend dad was telling me if the pump has not been replaced in the last 40,000-60,000 miles it probably has failed....it seems to be the most suggested problem.
Thanks, Kevin
