HI guys new to the fourms, please go ez on me.
I just bought a 99 psd crew cab short bed. It has a 4" lift w/ 35s
I thank it has 3:55's To make a long story short its a turd!
i raced my wife in our 07 toyota yaris w/ 110hp and i got pulled on.

anyways i was thankin about going with the edge juice w/ attitude.
I would like 100hp increse. ive seen threads where they said that setup only make like 50hp to the wheels. I dont have guages so that why i was looking at the model.
Please help me out wit some suggestions.

also how/what is ( STACKING ) the chips.

For give me if this sound dumb.

your gearing ratio is absoluttly terrible for 35 inch tires. You might want to go to 3.73's or even 4.10 ratio wich will give you better low end torque. With the 7.3 diesel i would go with either the DP tuner or the Tony Wildman chip with custom tunes. I have heard from other guys on this forum that the Tony Wildman is one of the better if not the best and safest for the 7.3. Raul at stealth-automotive (dot) com has the Tony Wildman and is simply a pleasure to deal with.
Just my 2 cents.

I would say the DP tuner or Tony Wildman chip also and stacking is when you either stack a chip like the Wildman with a promgramer like the Edge Evo or 2 chips one on the PCM were the majority go and one on the Map sensor like the TS MP-8 or Predator

Stacking on a 7.3 won't gain you much either -- unless you like paying for the extra programmer to gain about 20 HP I think (Raul again has stacked Edge products so would be better suited to answer your stacking questions :))

Oh, so u thank that the edge is anygood.
Ill check out the tony chip

Do not waste the money($350+) on stacking for the up to a 15hp gain. That is the most I have seen with stacking on a truck with back to back dyno runs. The last dyno day I was at I saw a 9hp gain with stacking using generic tunes.

Keep Strokin'

Ya i seen that in a forum.
But do u thank that the edge is worth it.
I guess what im aking is it really 75hp?
Im not looking to smoke tires i just want better responce. I have to get half to 3/4 trottle to get going up a hill. Its just a dog.
When i floor it once it builds boost it takes off ok. But again my wife out ran me in a roll on race from 55-85 she pulled a car in front of me, with A YARIS!

No, the edge is not worth it. It is more money than a chip and it is generic crap. Believe me, when you get the 75hp, you will want 100hp and then ___ and then ____. It is addictive. You will need an intake, exhaust and gauges to go with the chip or tuner or edge(crap) or whatever you get.

At first I wanted 350hp and then 400-425hp and now I'm a smidgen under 500hp. At first I wanted to be under 15sec in the 1/4, then I was mid 14's and now I'm high 13's and now I want mid 13's. It never ends.

I also answered the edge question in my post above in red

I see. Thanks, I guess ill look into the other chips. fo rthe money TS seems great. 275.00 but 300.00 in gauges sucks also. I wont ever use the 140 im sure.

anyone want to chime in on the bare minimum guages needed? EGT, tranny temp, and... boost? is boost really necessary?

Well call me an idiot but I had an Edge Evolution on my 02 crew cab 4x4 7.3 and really liked it. It put out more smoke than my SCT on my 6.0. It wasn't as fast but thats a different truck, motor and ball game. I had 305's on my truck also. I couldn't tell much of a differnce when I went back down to little bitty ole 265's. I don't think gearing is your problem. You just need a tuner!

DP Tuner w/ custom tunes all the way. My little bro has a '99 and just got a DP w/ custom tunes for Xmas from ITP Diesel...He loves it. I drove the truck too and it's great. Real nice and smooth power and the tranny shifts great. Call up ITP, they'll get you set up. They are really nice folks.

I wouldn't go for the recon gauges, I have them and they have been nothing but trouble. The last time I had to send them back they told me they weren't making any more at the time because of the problem. They also said that as soon as they get them all fixed they will sell again. So if you do get some, try to get a newer model.

You cant have too many gauges... 16 now...

Go with a chip from DP or Tony....

And a set of Isspro Gauges, dont go cheap on gauges...

check out diesel manor for an idea on what your looking for.
I have the three gauge pillar, not that difficult to put in.
after you have them in you'll be happy you did. You wont miss the money soon after its spent.. You will be amazed how fast the pyro climbs..

im happy with my dp chip, one of the easiest add ons you can get..
exhaust, air, gauges and then chip..
if your getting a chip gauges are a must..
these add ons are cheap compared to what your going to want.. :eek:hnoes:
