Hello fellow Powerstrokers, my name is Dennis and I am from central Illinois. I have been checking out this site for a couple months now and finally signed up and glad I did! I have learned so much and seen so many great ideas that I may have to use myself, and hope I can share and help someone else sometime.

I have a 2005 F350 Lariat S/C, SB, 6.0, FX4, 6sp. Its True Blue/Arizona Beige. I have a Araid air intake, custom exhaust with (Garfield) delete, and Super Chips Tuner. I get 17-20 mpg not towing.

I also have a 2003 F250 XLT R/C, 7.3, 4X2 with automatic. It has Volant air intake and 4" turbo back exhaust. Its been repainted by previous owner, its Black over Dark Shadow Gray below door handle line (like the 2004 Harley paint scheme). Gets 17-20 mpg also.

I also have (although not a Powerstroke) a very sharp 2001 Grand Marquis with hood scoops, chrome wheels with white letter tires, and dual exhaust. Gets lots of looks!!

Sorry I don't have pictures at this time, but I will get some soon. Car in storage till March. I am buying a digital camera so when I learn how to use it and learn how to post pictures I will.

Anyway, glad I'm here, and hope I can help someone else like you all have helped me. Have a good day!!!!!!!

CAT797 Sure Is. How long have you had your truck?

I got my truck back in September........first PSD. Had a 93 F350 dually with non-turbo 7.3 that couldn't pull the skin off rice pudding.....:hehe:

O.K. I remember the 93 I didn't realize you got a different truck. I have not seen it sitting at your house. Looks like same color as mine. Also the comment about lack of power, I can relate to that with my 6.0!! Thing is a 4 cyl. I swear!! Put a 10,000 lb. trailer behind and you pretty much have to start out in granny. Once your rolling you better hope you don't encounter a hill. Once the RPMs get below 1600-1700 there is no lugging power once in 3rd to 5th gear. Don't know if its my truck or the nature of the set-up of the 6.0 w/ 6sp. Just one of the questions I plan on asking one of these days on the site. See ya!!

There's always so many cars at my house, she's usually sitting out behind the garage.........I think mine tows great (at least better than anything I've driven before). The torqueshift is smooth and when you put the hammer down, she goes good. Our 7.3 non-turbo, 5-speed was the dog around here.

Welcome!!Ive had other people around the county tell me their 6.0 with 6spd was a dog but my 07 w ith 6spd isnt these motors have more in higher rpms than in lower. I have noticed however if I am pulling a load It pulls better if I shift at 3000 rpm or above.

Thanks for responding, I test drove one 6sp. and two autos before I ordered mine. I wanted a 6sp. but after towing for the first time found out I should have got the auto. The autos run like a race car! The 6.0 needs to be in the upper RPMs for lugging, and thats not my driving style, know what I mean? I didn't buy a brand new truck to HAVE to run the snot out of it. The 7.3 lugged low. Oh well!!
