well i took my truck in for the latest reflash to take care of the cold start issue. i was just wondering what can i expect. will there be any change in peformance or gas mileage or anything else i should watch out for.
It depends when was the last time you got a reflash. If you have never been reflashed the change will be extreme and for the better. Either way, it's for the better.
The first 6.0L years we told customers not to get reflashed because Ford didn't know what they were doing but they have really gotten it right and you should see more power out of your truck, even stock. The clacks that you used to hear will disappear. You should get better fuel mileage too.
Reflashes are just glitches that Ford has found and correct it to save on warranty work.
I wrote all the above because we feel really strongly about getting the truck the latest calibration.
thanks viv, i got a chance to drive my truck a little tonight and it sure is better at starup. it also felt a bit stronger in stock trim. i havent put a program back in it yet because someone said it may store the original program back in it(the one before the reflash). im not sure they were talking about the livewire though.
