Good morning everybody I own a 6.0 06 with no issues jet But here in Alberta there is a lot of 6.4 owners with turbo problems but it gets better to remove the turbo you have to take the cab up for clearance or cut a hole in the fire wall till later
It gets worse.
If you need to do some serious work on this engine the cab has to come off completely.
Don't get me wrong I have been a Ford man all my life and their products have helped me build my business.
I have always run the 7.3 this is a fantastic engine.
OK it has its problems but all engines do especially down here in the Southern heat.
Blame the EPA on this and the new batch of emmission complient engines.
Unfortunately the 7.3 was never really going to meet the new emmisions regs and that was it fair and square but I ask myself what is going to be the re sale value on a truck that requires a cab lift and re sale effects new vehicle sales.
I guess I am lucky I have fork lifts but would I go there - no way.
I feel Ford's pain here, lets hope they fit the new engines being built in Dagenham UK.
From what I hear they have a great product.

yes it is true to do any type of major work to the 08's the cab must be removed, I seen a cab offa truck at my dealer with 1600 miles on it due to a bad injector pump.I dunno what ford was thinking , but with more miles on mine than anyone else I know (73,652 and counting) I am sure that I will have to make an access panel in the future to help with labor issues and cost later on.
you can lift the cab. But we have done work to the top of the engine all but taking the heads off and we havent pulled a cab yet. You dont have to cut anything to pull the turbos off.
