Im thinking of getting a tripple disc convertor for my truck now and i saw one for about $1000 from ATS. Is that a good price or can i get one cheaper.
I have a billet one from John Wood. Precision Industries is another good one. ATS 5 star is another good one.
All of the super heavy duty TC's will run you $1200-$1500. I do not know of the ATS recon. Call John Wood, I think he as a way to put in a stock 6.0 TC(it is a tripple disc)in the 4R100. He said he uses it for his farmers that are pounding the crap out of it all the time for a lot less cash.....John Wood Automotive - Home
I would call Larry at Discountpowerparts.com He runs it in his pullin trucks as well as I. I just got mine about a month ago, and still only have good things to say, Larry has been using his for over 2 years I believe. Give him a call if your intrested, he is a smart man when it comes to this...oh yeah, I have edge j/a and I run it on 5 with no problem. but I also have the transmission to back it.
Are you talking about the $600 converter from DPP? I'm having my trans BUILT next month and NEED a good converter. If I can get one for $600 that holds up to good abuse please enlighten me :dunno:
I found the best prices at dpp. I wasnt sure if it was going to be a good converter, but I said hey I will give it a shot it seemed to have worked out for larry. BTW it wasnt on his website. you have to ask for it on the phone.
Getting a valve body to go with the converter would not be a terrible idea either....I know I am no help try to get people to hang onto their money...:blast2:
Why can't you just list the prices like DPP? A lot of us don't have the time to waste on the telephone. Seems like when people don't advertise the price on parts, there is a reason. Like BANKS! They don't list because their stuff is through the roof!
For example: I requested a price from you MONTHS ago on a 5" straight pipe, with a 4" downtube. And NEVER got an answer. I probably PM'd you half a dozen times. I'm not going to chase down someone who I'm going to give my money to, it should work the other way around. So I got a system elsewhere, where they wanted my money and could be bothered to correspond with me. :soapbox:
Try this:racerxautomotive They have AWESOME stuff for a GOOD price. If you call ask for Bill, He is FULL of info.
They sell other stuff so make sure you go into the tranny section and then to Torque Converters. There highest one is 900 something and I was told that one was only needed for sled pulling/drag racing or Super Heavy Towing.
