so i got them installed.......but i am rather unhappy with the fit. after all the debating on what to get i wish i would have spent the money on something else. i have a loose fit on the lower portion of the lights, and they wont snug into the mirror frame either. i figured for 100.00 that they would have a better fit then this.... in fact i am so bothered by it i wont put up any pics..... sorry.

thats ok if they r loose i wud be worried about them coming out and then u wud have wasted ur money i wud atleast call them monday and see wat they say or ask Raul wat he thinks

i dont think that they will pop out, they just dont fit snug like the factory ones do. the little butterfly clips on the inside have about 1/8th '' gap where they are supposed to come into contact with the mirror frame so they stay snug. also, while i am venting, one of the lights were scratched on the lense, and one of the butterfly clip looked cracked too. i didnt mess with it too much so it wouldnt break if it was.

I hope the Recon stuff I bought fits!

#16 ·
Somebody else had the same complaint last week. I can't remember what Raul had to say about it, but he did reply rather quickly.

#19 ·
well, if it doesnt fit (the 3rd brake light) then I am screwed b/c its an ebay deal...

the lightning BETTER work & look GOOD! :D

#20 ·
yeah, i hope it does. i hope no one keeps from buying from Raul. he is a good guy. this is from the manufacturer. they look good, i just dont like the fit.

#21 ·
Yes, it is not Raul's fault, but he will do what he can to make it right!

ok bud, i appreciate it!! i knew something was up when i could barely get the old ones out and the new ones went right in. they arent gonna fall out, but they sure dont fit like Recon claims. i am thinking its a bad batch or something.

I'm feeling yer pain Rob! I'm most sure Raul will make it right!! He sells a lot of stuff on here and wants to keep his profile up and I'm sure the manufacture wants his continued buisness!! Keep yer head up bro!!

:bump:

so now i am really wondering about these lights. i went to walmart today, just got back, and i have blown 2, 20 fuses for the turn signal lamps. is it the LED's not needing as much power, do i need to drop to a 15 or are they requiring more power and i need to go to a 25? or is it the lights? i do notice whn i replaced the fuse, the signals on the dash are different, the right arrow is really bright and the left is pretty dim. hasnt ever been like that until the recon install. any info would be appreciated!

#26 ·
You got hosed Tommy.....you got hosed. It sounds like you got some bad lights. Everybody talks about LEDs needing less power not more so you shouldn't need a heavier fuse. Are you sure you didn't short something out during the install?

#27 ·
Tommy??? LOL. no i didnt short anything out. its all plugs. i replaced the fuse and it worked for about 5 seconds then blew again.

#31 ·
That was something from an old movie! It sucks that you got a bad setup. Everybody else raves about the Recon products. I'm sure Raul will get to the bottom of it.

#28 ·
Yah, there is a short or something in those lights...

did you get a set that were returned and accidentally sent back out or something?!?!?!

the package was new, taped closed. the plastic protective coverings were on, but one lense was scratched. not sure on how that happened. i dont know. i am gonna take them off and just package them up for now. they look nice, i like the smoke on the blue paint, but i dont want the hassles. this isnt turning out to be a good experience with Recon lighting.
