I've seen some of the mods to manually lock up the torque converter while towing. I'm wondering how this affects driving.

i have an auto PSD i regularly tow a 7K f'er with. Looking like it will Probably be30+ times a year. We used to do it in a 20' trailer but upgraded recently.

How Will the torqe converter lockup help me. Is it better to just chip the trans?

How about a shift kit.

Sorry new to diesels and RV trailers at the same time. I didn't have any worries towing my box trailer.

A friend of mine Psdfan99, made a TC lockup switch and from what ive learned here that locking it up will put more power to the ground and allow for less slippage in the tranny as well as lower tranny temps. In terms of a shift kit, thats supposed to supposedly boost the pressure in the lines to allow for quicker, firmer shifts. i was looking into a shift kit and a lot of the guys here told me to just go ahead and look into a BTS Valve body, which im doing now. in terms of towing the fiver im not too sure, im sure a lot of the guys here can help you out though. Good luck with it.:thumb:
