Got one, sounds good but have had to replace the muffler twice, its cracking on the end-welds of the can...thats about $80 in shipping out of my pocket, I'd go MBRP!:twocents:
Yeah...the 1st one went after 30,000 and the 2nd about the same. The 1st time it was excusable...things happen...now i'm upset, been driving around with a $300 broken muffler for 3 months! I'm no expert welder but I've done my share and those welds shouldnt break like that...i'm not sending it back again, i'll just run a straight pipe
I've got it and I really dig it! 130K on the clock and 100K of that with the Banks system. No muffler issues at all.
Timmy, whats your theory on your muffler troubles. Is in in some odd bind? Maybe thermal shock?
Wish I understood, its hanging the way it should, there's no front to back pressure on it, theres a hanger on both ends I dont see why this is happening but the front weld on the can has completly seperated. It went together easy, there was no forcing so I dont know why it would bind. You running a 10"round stainless can about 30" long? This exhaust has been on 2 trucks and its broke on both so its not a miss mounting issue.
Yup, about 10" X 30" and you can see clean through it. That's the one I'm running. I have ZERO experience with other diesel mufflers but the Banks has been great. Sorry to hear you had so many issues with yours Timmy!
This makes me want to crawl under the truck to double check mine for cracks!
