So me,Marc, and julie went down to Robs (Rajharley) to do some mods weve been wanting to do to our rigs... so we head out their butt as early sat morning.... All i can say about the weekend is that i had a great time... i hope to do it again soon...although we didnt get to do everything on our lists we still got a lot done... here is a list of what we did
Robs Rig:
Ball Joints
Installed Ranch Hand Bumper
Installed Recon Dually Fender Lights (smoked)
Installed brighter Xenon bulbs
My Rig:
Wired up My winch
Wired up all my off-road lights on my bumper
Installed my front driveshaft
Fixed a loud crack noise under the front end (ended up being a washer put into the wrong place during the lift)
Wired up my fan on my secondary tranny cooler
all we didnt end up doing was install my cab lights and door sill.. but that should be done in the next couple of weeks
I want to say thanks to Rob, Marc and everyone else that played a part in this weekend....
Ill post up pictures later once its dark enough to turn on the lights
we just did it at robs house.. his in front of the driveway and mine right next to his... and yup we were at Pendleton. It was a lot of work and im surprised we got to do all we did...
K guys here are some pics of my lights.... this pics do not do them justice though... i literly cant look right into them because they are just that bright lol
Here are some more pics...in no particular order lol... marc doing robs ball joints, us installing robs bumper and smoked LED dually lights, and us working on my winch trying to wire it up....
ball joints are a pain in the rear.... you need special tools and a way to press them in again..... not something just anyone can do... my suggestion is just take it in to a good shop and have them do it...
yah bud sorry... only reason they got done this time was cause Marc brought his tools with him(diesel tech) cause no would of been able to do them.... where you located?
I rented the tool from Napa for free and it took two evenings to get the ball joints out and back in. Only reason it took two evenings is I broke the first tool. Then took it back to Napa and they had to send out for the tool from another store so I went to Chinafreight and got one of their tools. Bent the harbor freight tool like it was putty and by the next day had the new OTC tool from Napa to finish up the project.
The hardest part was making the seal driver for the knuckle.
Otherwise just basic time consuming wrenching, nothing brainy about it.
