I have noticed that anytime my heat is on the ac compressor is running, I know on most vehicles when in defrost the ac runs but mine is on in any position. Just wondering what the normal operation is and if anyone has any ideas.
Mine has the "auto" A/C controls and the compressor always kicks in... I simply turn the "A/C" off and it doesn't come back on... I would have thought that the auto would be smart enough to know whether it was hot or cold outside ....
Course for all I know the A/C is based on a heat pump which would then make sense that the compressor would kick in even for heat...
it dose that to keep the pump lubricated, had the same question myself and dug untill i found that out, it cycles on and off to keep the oils from settling out of the pump all winter and when you turn it on in the summer its lubed so you don't burn it out. just what i was told
