Has anyone here taken a leaf spring front end on a pre 05' superduty and swapped for a aftermarket 4 link like Fabtech offers? thinking about doing that to mine so i can have better turning and nicer ride. would like to get some feedback if possible. thanks!
i havnt done it on mine... had been wanting too.... but i like the skyjacker 4 link system better and its cheaper... also if your wanting to go with the fabtech, for that price you can get a kelderman air susp system which will not only ride better but turn better as well.....
I don't think you HAVE to go aftermarket. The 05+ ford axles work on the leaf sprung truck. I don't know the details but Nick was swapping one out on a 7.3 when my truck was getting lifted. just an fyi.
Truck is a 2002 7.3L that we put a 05+ axle under with a Rize 10" kit. The install is not to bad but there are a few things that need to be moved due to the 7.3L a 6.0L leaf truck would be smoother.
i actually almost bought that exact kit. much cheaper than the fabtech kit for sure, but it just isnt very stout.
it looks good, but once you start going big, it just isnt beefy enough to keep up with rugged use. the kelderman is definitely sick, but about 10 grand to do right.
does anyone know how much the kit from fabtech or skyjacker costs?
i havent heard the greatest things about kelderman unless kelderman themselves did the install. i have heard from a few people around my parts that their trucks didnt track straight.
illl pm you a price but just off the top of my head the fabtech is in the range of 6k with the dirt logic 4.0 and the skyjacker is around 4k.... but ill get you an exact price
i have the kelderman info here they sent me a brochure and price list. the fabtech is very expensive, to do the whole truck would be around 8 grand IIRC
Interesting, I want to lift my truck a bit and if I can get a 4 link that would be sweet. Does the 4 link really get better turning radius and ride quality?
