OK I wouldn't ever try this driving down the roads but do you think its a bad idea to run with no air filter for a couple 1/4 mile passes at the strip? I was thinking of pulling off the tymar and letting it get as much air as possible.. I think I'm towing my buddy to the track this Saturday and I'm gunna unhook the trailer and make a few passes to see what it does.. they are running test and tune and its a mopar day... yes he is a mopar guy with 2 dodges

I doubt the gains would out weight the negatives.

I dont know either .. I dont know how well the napa/tymar flows vs no filter at all..

I know I have lots of fuel cause on my extreme it will blow the black smoke the full 1/4 mile it doesnt stop even with 25 psi of boost.. so that would mean I need more air or bigger turbo to compensate for the extra fuel right?

thanks stump man i have been lookin for that napa part number forever. is that better than the expensive intake filters or is it just the same. also with the biger filter how often do i need a new one?

hey stump or anyone else since i can still roll the coal through the gears and it never really clears up totally even with 25 psi boost think it still needs more air? or do they all do that when they are chipped with extreme tunes

not enough air if its still smokin bad. once mine hits about 28 or 29 lbs it clears up alot. but when i first get on it better hope you not walkin down the side of the road know what i mean ha ha

ya mine will smoke out a city block off the hop especially if i stomp it @ 1000-1500 rpm in 2nd gear .. but it dont quite clear up so its over fueling then or lacking air .. guess its a good idea im lookin at gettin the afe stage 2 .. if that dont do it then I guess bigger turbo???

and to think I have a early 99 with the smaller injectors

I wonder if a wicked wheel would help?

dang. are the wild man tunes better than bully dog no one around here has a chip that he has burned.

#14 ·
I love the Wildman tunes ... they are insane.. and man can he make ya roll the coal .. and shred your tires like never before

I went form a Superchips flashpaq to Wildman wish I never bothered with the Superchips I can tell ya that

Can he take my bully dog chip and put his tunes on that instead of me buying a new chip? do you have a number i can call bout pricing

Tony himself its better to call him after supper time if possible or leave a message and he will return your call

#20 ·
anytime... if ya get them let us know how you like them you need to get a extreme tune from him if you get his tunes its wicked and smokey

#22 ·
deff sounds like you need more air -- but I DEFFINATELY wouldn't take the filter off the intake... thats just asking for trouble :)

#24 ·
Well thats a hard decision.. lower power setting or less fuel

or more air..

Bigger turbo is the only manly thing to do :thumb:

hahahah Chris -- exactly!

I'm not sure Ill have to talk to Tony and see what he says.. I told him I wanted to go with a D66 real soon so I'm almost wondering if he took this into consideration when making all the tunes for me...If I do have to send it back to him its not a big deal he can adjust everything accordingly
