After New Dummy Plugs/Standpipes

Just finished installing new dummy plugs and standpipes in my unit. The rings were pretty much gone on the dummy plugs. Glad I put new ones in. It took a bit of time for it to start the first time. Then it start like a charm a few times. I let it sit for a few minutes and tried it again. Had the same problem of a long start.

Question: could I have air trapped in it and if so how do I get the air out of the oil rail or standpipes cause it still seems like there is a problem?

I'm letting it idle for a bit to see if it helps. I'll give an update a little later.

Thanks

Just gotta let it run for a bit. I just did stand pipes and dummy plugs last week and after the first start it was still starting really hard. I let it sit in the driveway running for a half hour or so and it has started up awesome ever since. I thought for sure I didn't fix my hard start issue at first but just give it time to get the air out and you should be fine.

As stated in the above replies, take it for a good half hour drive and it should be good after. :thumb:

Thanks for the input. So I let it sit running in the driveway for about 40 minutes then turned it off. 10 minutes later I tried starting it, and without a problem started like a charm. Then took it for spin for another 15 and noticed it was smoking a bit from
A: the engine (pretty sure that was just oil burning off the manifolds) and
B: from the end of the pipe (which i'm not sure why).

How long will it smoke for or is it an unrelated issue?

Tomorrow i'll take it to work and see how it does. Hope it gets better.

Yeah it's a little un-nerving at first LOL. Good to see it's running good.
