Hey guys my bro inlaw just bought a 04 6.0 250 with 46000+ and his engine light came he only had the truck 1 week and he took it back to the dealer and they had to replace the turbo what cuold have caused that he was blessed though cause the dealer replaced it at no charge:Shocked: Any ideas why it went, no mods except for exhaust. just wonderin what to look out for and give him a heads up too.
the turbo is probably the most commonly replaced thing on the 6.0 as a whole currently. Usually the problem is the truck ISNT getting driven hard enough, which causes carbon buld up in the vaines of the turbo and makes it start to bind......
Sounds like the last owner didnt get on it enough....just tell him to drive it hard and he will be just fine.....U cant baby these trucks, it causes problems.....Marc
I some times forget what I am driving and baby it but even a 7.3 needs to work to run rite:burnout
