Thanks! I've been reading up over on DB. I'll shoot on over to the nation.

I'm just a little confused, when they were talking about a programmer for the 4 FICM tunes, do they mean the FICM tunes can be stored on the Gryphon or was Bill and Groovy Chick talking about having a separate programmer that can be bought from them to hold the 4 FICM tunes.

I'm hoping they have plans for a separate flash programmer, that would allow me to run the Atlas 40 for towing, then flash to the Atlas 80 for DD.

The gryphon can do either PCM tunes or FICM tunes. Not both at the same time.

The hercules isnt tow friendly.

For towing Id do the atlas 40. Atlas 40 is the one I'll be goin with shortly

the way im understanding it so far is when you send your ficm in the power hungry(Bill) you have 4 programs to choice from. The 1st being for heaving towing the atlas 40 for still heavy towing. The atlas 80 for people who tow very little and not alot and the hercules is like a race tune but for the ficm. That being said the hercules and a strong ecm tune will still net 420-440 hp at the wheels but with greater throttle response.

I believe when you send them your ficm you only get to pick one. I hope this helps a little bit

I understand the difference in tunes, but it sounded like PHP might have plans with a separate programmer. Read post #46 & 80.

So instead of sending in your FICM or waiting for the returnable programmer, you'll have the option to buy the device for your use.

We do have an option where if you purchase the FICM Programmer (as opposed to "borrowing" the device), you can have several different options loaded which are changeable at your discretion. The standard FICM Programmer already comes with 4 Power Levels, but can be updated to support custom tunes as well.

Yup IIRC its an EVO 2 with the FICM flashes on it.

Thanks, Now let's just see what the price will be.

Order form is on their page now.

Thanks Dave.

so.... i couldn't help myself, ordered the hercules tune... i'm on stock bolts and it said not recommended... guess i might be doing studs earlier than the planned time (summer)

Tomorrow I'm ordering the Gryphon with 4 FICM tunes, I like the idea of swapping out the tunes for different needs.

PHP sells the Gryphon (non CS/CTS) $399, this programmer is able to be used to either tune the PCM/TCM only or can be programmed to tune the FICM only.

So instead of me sending in my FICM to be programmed, or waiting for the remote FICM programmer, I'll be able to load and unload any of the 4 FICM power level tunes.

I'll be able to use my SCT to program the PCM/TCM and then use the Gryphon to program the FICM.

All this talk about roll backs and Ficm tuning has me thinking.....

we have an old WDS in the basement and I'm sure the old calibration discs are down there too. I bet I could put the original cal back into my truck

#26 ·
Got the email today, PHP shipped out my Gryphon. ETA, Tuesday!!

#29 ·
SWEET! I thought the SCT tuning would have to be adjusted to complement the FICM programming. Are you going to get new tunes and have you heard of any of the SCT tuners working with Bill's newer FICM tuning?

#27 ·
Does anyone with one of these gryphon's know if it's VIN locked or can be sold or shared between trucks?

#28 ·
Read the first paragraph, it VIN locks to your truck.

IIRC, I read on one of the forums, Bill said its like the SCT, if you want to use it on another truck or sell the Gryphon, you will need to return back to stock FICM program in order to use it on another truck. I just can't find where I read it at, sorry.

What dumb luck!!! I've been waiting for the brown truck to drop off the Gryphon, nope nothing!! So I'm heading down the road to go to work, and I get a email notification on my phone. I read the email and BAM there it is, delivered to my house. I JUST MISSED THE BROWN TRUCK!!!

All well........ Looks like I get to play with the Gryphon tomorrow. The next 8hrs of work are gonna be LOOOOOONNNGGG!!! LOL!!

It's too bad you can't play with your Gryphon until you get home... :poke
