I wanted to know if a 285-70 will fit on my 05? Im not sure but it looks to have a leveling kit on it now. I have a new job at ntb so i get a huge discount. Im looking at 285-70-17 BFG Mud's for 650 mounted and balenced with road hazzard. Or i can get a set of 315-70-17 BFG A/T's for 600. same as above. i just dont know if the 315's will fit with out a lift. any help will be great.
I and a friend have been running 285/70/17 Firestone destination MT's and they look great...no rub...no leveling kit. Its totally up to you, but I have had BFG MT's on jeeps and trucks and Im less then impressed with there cost, and performance compared to the Firestone Destinations....just a thought. BTW the BFG's AT's are louder then my Firestone Destination MT's!
315's will fit fine. I leveled my truck about an 1 1/2" and put 35's on it with aftermarket wheels and all I had to do was cut part of the fender liner. I know people that put 37's on leveled trucks with stock wheels. my sisters truck is leveled with 37's.
Will 285/70/17's look noticeably bigger then my stock 265's? I can get 4 BFG All Terrain A/T's with only 1k miles on them for $399. Think it's worth it?
Figured it was better to revive an existing thread rather than start a new one.
I was hoping (but didn't think) they would look bigger. I hate the Firestone's I have on my truck now. I had those same BFG's on an Explorer before I bought my truck, and loved them. $399 seems like a pretty good price. My only concern would be going from load range "E" to "D". About the only towing I would do is a one time 2,000 mile round trip to pick up my Mustang. Oh, and once in a while tow a 27ft. boat.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
