i am looking to buy gears for my 2005 f250. what size axle do i have. when i called randy ring and pinion they asked how many bilts did i have and i have 12 in the rear and 10 on the front. When i go to look up gears its asking if its 9" or 10.5".. what are they asking for and what do i need to know?
When did the 250 start getting Dana 60 fronts? I thought they had the bastard Dana 50, it looks like a 60 but has a smaller ring and pinion and more beef in the center section so 60 parts wont fit.
Yes as far as I know, all superdutys with the 6.0 have the dana 60 front axle. The only difference between the 03-04 and 05-07 trucks was that the outer shafts are 35 spline on the 05-07 trucks and 30 spline on the 03-04 trucks. I could be wrong and their could be more differences but that was what I remember finding out in an offroad magazine.
Wow, so our trucks are 35 spline inner AND outer shafts? Thats great to know! I've always been worried about breaking a stub shaft doing boosted launches in 4 wheel drive ever since I broke a 30 spline stub in a Dana 60 under my Jeep pretty easy.
