I am looking at buying an 07 F250 with the 6.0 Powerstroke. The ratings, reviews and overviews are all over the scale on the different sites and blogs. What are the "6.0 Powerstroke problems" I keep seeing referred to on many of the sites? Should I get this truck or buy something else until 09 when the new 6.4 has a track record? Thanks for your input....

in my opinion, most of the problems with the 6.0 have been ironed out. there is still some turbo problems, but 70% or more of those are created by the driver by not driving it hard enough. you see a few injector problems, but nothing normal fuel filter changes and good fuel wont keep away. all and all, the 05 and 06 6.0's have had relatively few problems.....

all that said, in my training course a little over a week ago, i got assurance from one of our instructors. he told us that the garantee for ULSD was only a small part in ford pushing back the release date for the 6.4. He told us that ford realized they couldnt have another 6.0 hit the market, with a lot of problems from the get go....and that the 6.4 would not be released untill extensive testing was completed to the standards that EXCEED all of the industries new car/truck standards.....from what i was hearing, the 6.4 MAY be more reliable from day 1 than any diesel ever produced.........ill beleave it when i see it, but to have enganeers convinced makes me hopefull........Marc
