The D66 is a bolt on upgrade for OBS and early99. It is a 66mm compressor wheel in a machined out stock housing. It cleans up my B code injectors just fine. Only problem is I have yet to put it to the floor and I can hit 40psi of boost with ease. It is one awesome turbo for up to stage 2 injectors.
I would talk to Bean or Dusty. I don't think you will make any more power with an H2E with your stage one injectors than you will with the D66. The D66 flows more air than a standard H2E. The next step up is more fuel and then a modded H2E. Don't think you will get more power with a standard H2E.
Is it worth doing a D66 turbo upgrade on my truck giving the mods on in my sig, I plan to do some mild stage II injectors some time in the future. Would you GREG B, and STROKIN EARLY 99 reccommend doing the D66 upgrade for my application(truck)?
I would do it. I tow a 10K trailer and this turbo is awesome. And that was with stock injectors. Spool is instant and EGT's were under 1200* all of the time. I would make sure you put in an intercooler when you add fuel.
I am puting a set of stock AD(140cc) injectors on my dads 97(cali tuned) and putting my D66 on it at the same time in November.
No I want it, I just have to talk to the guy who owns the shop that built my tranny, I'll be in touch with you this evening or tonight (saturday night) and maybe we can make a deal!
It will fit mine! I have an early 99 that i am going to kill the turbo soon. all of my little mods plus my wildman tunes i can pull 28-30 lbs all day if i dont watch it! CASH IN HAND!
this turbo will ONLY fit an early 99 truck. you gotta check your build date and make sure you got an early bird. It simply will not fit the later 99-03 7.3L's... I know cuz I got one!
