this is what the report said. this was oil that i put in when i bought the truck in october of last year. my coolant levels have not changed at all. curious how it is getting in there.

JASON: Aluminum, chrome and iron, from the pistons, rings and cylinders, read a bit high after a
4366-mile oil run. Universal averages for typical wear are based on 5232-miles of oil use and the
presence of potassium and sodium in the oil points to some anti-freeze possibly getting into it and
causing the higher wear. 0.5% of the sample was fuel but that wouldn't be a factor in the wear. Air and
oil filtration (see silicon and insolubles) were normal. We suggest monitoring your coolant level and
stick with ~4000-mile oil changes for now. The TBN was 10.0, loads of active additive.

my Q is how did you only put 4000k on your truck since last october LOL

you might just change the oil and see what your next oil report says... coulda been a fluke ?

i only drive 2 miles 1 way to work and i don't drive it that much anyway. my wife said its to loud for teh baby to be in so we take her truck. be when i drive it. its either babied or driven like i stole it. depends on what kinda of mood i am in. and how many people my ride my tail. and no pulling at all.

Can you post the actual report? I can probably help with some of what your seeing. I can already tell you that your insolubles and fuel dillution are high due to short trip driving. Short trips are very bad on oil and all engines. The TBN is still very good. What oil were you running, and what was run b4 you bought the truck? all of this affects the oil sample

Did you inform blackstone of your short trips? How was the oil changed? if it wasn't driven for long distance b4 the change all numbers are affected

Got it jason. Though some of your wear numbers are a little high. I have seen much worse with engines nearing 200k. My 2000 has 215K on the clock when I did my last report. My wear numbers are about 1/2 of what yours are. Most of my driving is for longer periods than yours.

My suggestion is to back the interval down to 3k and b4 draining the oil take the truck for a 20 mile cruise down the highway. with the PSD holding about 15 quarts of oil it takes a while for it to heat and cycles through the system. Take your drain as soon as you return from the drive. and take your sample from the middle of the drain. i think you will have a better outcome

As for the coolant, the amount in the oil is only a trace i wouldn't worry about it at this time, but with 200k on it you may be having some Cavation going on in your cylinder. Cavation is small pin holes in the cylinder. 7.3 are natorious for cavation.. Other than that the numbers look good. If you had real bad problems your TBN would have been eaten up.

ok so what is the higest number of tbn is there. i mean like a scale of 0-10 or higher. we are looking to build this thing up next summer. thanks for the insight. j
