Well,,,,,,theres a guy on here who claims his canned tune is stronger than her looney tune.
Spend some time lurkin around the site and you won't have to dig back more than a couple of pages in the 6.0 general discussion or performance parts threads to find your answer and educate yourself.
Go to the top left of the page and there's a blank white box that is the google search. You'll get back more info about what a looney is than you'll be able to absorb in one day.
Call Quick Tricks ask for Vivian. Her tunes are awesome I am running the Loony Wild. It will destroy any truck with canned tunes. Call and talk to her she is very cool and helpful.:icon_ford:
Call Vivian at Quick Tricks. Im running her looney tune and it is awsome. I tried the canned tunes on my truck and it made it shift really bad. Her looney tune has alot more power and the truck shifts better than stock.
 You really need to think about what you said. IE... RWHP.
Actually, its 127+hp over stock. My "stockish" truck put down 260 on the dyno, while being stock tuned. So likely its more like 140+hp over stock.:thumb:
hey does anyone have the Looney and Extreme street ? i have both and figured they would be about equal but that is not the case. My ex-street is much more powerful than my looney but the looney shifts great . is this normal or should i give vivian a shout
I have looney wild and extreme street. I think looney wild is better but the real reason i run it is the shifting. The only thing about looney wild is the boost. I can come real close to 40psi.
Wish I could have taken a third run, with Xrace. I could have tested all three of the popular tunes, back to back, same truck, same day, same dyno . Oh well, I had to git. Work and all :blahblah1:
To the OP - I have run looney and Xstreet. They are different, I can't say one is better than the other. I know which one I like better, but that's my opinion, on my truck. Your opinion may be diff, and your truck may respond diff to the programing.
05spudman, I sure hope you're studded @40psi boost! I'd call Vivian and ask about that kinda pressure. On the Looney I can lay it to the floor and hold it, and still never get past 25psi. None of my tunes from Quick Tricks or Innovative Diesel boost past 25psi.
I was hitting 31lbs of boost untuned on my 03 F250. I thought my glowshift gauge was off so when I took it in to have the studs done the mechanic put it on the scanner and took it for a test drive. My gauge was off....... by one pound. He said its rare but every now and then 1 truck will get amazing boost out of the VGT turbos. I am buying an SCT to put on my truck and cant wait now that it will be studded and egr deleted. Also going to have a brand new set of ford heads because the original ones were cracked
I was up around 28-29 psi stock, but all the custom tunes boost less. Some of the other guys I've talked to report the same on the I.D. street and Q.T. Looney tunes. I've never run one of the Extreme tunes or the Looney Wild so maybe its those tunes that boost more. I also told Vivian that I was studded, but still wanted a safe tune. I am going to order the Looney Wild as soon as I get my current "melt down of fuse panel" fixed.
ttt. i want to send out my programmer but someone i was talking to who also has a 6 litre said vivians tunes are garbage, so im a little bit leery. what is vivians most powerful tune?
Whoever told you Vivians tunes are "Garbage" is retarded. Vivs tunes are great and her customer service is the best. There are some guys out there that talk a lot of s*it, just don't believe all of it. I run Vivians Looney Wild DD as my DD and I'd put it up against anyone elses tunes. I also run Innovative Diesels Street tune when I tow my small landscape trailer. As long as you know what you want and can actually voice that to a tuner, any one of them out there will be able to write and tweak a tune to do exactly what you want. It's the guys that don't understand what they want and don't know how to tell a tuner how they would like the tune tweaked that have problems.
The guys who complain are usually the one that have weak spots in their trucks. ie.. High power tunes WILL find all the weak spots in your truck sooner than a stock tune will. Ask Vivian and she will tell you.
I have IDP's Extreme street and race tunes, Matts studded SRL or whatever it is really called, and Looney from Vivian. I prefer Matt's and Vivian's tunes to Eric's. I just like the way my truck drives better, I'm not too concerned about which tune makes 3hp more than the other.
When I studded my truck and deleted the egr I went back to each tuner to update my tunes. Both Matt and Vivian went through several revisions to get what I wanted for nothing. Eric wanted 60/tune to fix them. I haven't run one of his tune since. Hell I can buy a new tune for that.
The custom tunes will always be better than the canned tunes, the canned tunes have to be safe for may different types of same make/model/year vehicles, although the canned tunes will give you better performance and hp, the customs will always be able to give a little more, the canned tunes have to be a little more reserved for liability reasons
I myself just loaded Vivians looney tune into my 03 and the truck has never ran better or shifted smoother! Completley impressed and surpassed all my expectations. As said before I've never had better customer service. Definately recommend her all the way around! Super nice and super easy to deal with!
