Hey guys.....just bought a '04 6.0L CCSB 4x4 w/ 182K on the ticker. It's got the arp studs / black onyx headgasket / egr delete / hpop / gauges (boost, egt, trans temp, oil temp, water) w/ a SCT X2 programmer on a leadfoot diesel custom tune( economy / xtreme street / race) / leveling kit / 35x12.50R20 ATZs.

It's showing that I'm getting about 13.5-14MPG no matter how I drive it. I've done my own mpg tests w/ it and its about the same.....I've heard of these getting around 15-16 w/ 35s. I just wanted to know if there is something I need to get or a better tune or what. I know a ton about a cummins but powerstroke's are new to me....a lot more going on under the hood. haha.

I LOVE the truck and it rides and handles SO MUCH better than my dodges I've had in the past............

BOTTOM LINE: I'm new to this and I've been trying to read up on some stuff....I plan on doing the Zoodad Mod...other than that...dont know much.

whats the stock trans good for? what mpg could I be getting/ should i be getting? / etc...ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Same milage

I too just recently purchased a 6.0 rig with 65k on ticker. You seem to have a lot more mods on yours, I have around a 4" lift and running 31.5's and am also avergaing around the same milage. I unfortunately dont have an answer for you but I had the same question pretty much. Hope you don't mind me piggy backing of your post.

Thanks:icon_ford:

My 04 f350 srw 6.0 get any where from 17 to 20 miles a gallon. I have a 4 inch lift and 35s also. the only thing i have is a 4 inch strait pipe exhaust and edge juice with evolution. I also have the zoo dad mod. I dont have egr delete or studs and usually the egr delete will up it a little. thats strange. what size exhaust does it have?????

I use the ID extreme street and get ~17-18 on the highway. about 68 mph seems to be my trucks sweet spot. I go much higher mpg drops pretty heavily, and down to 55mpg i still get ~17-18.

It could be, but the newer PCM strategies are the main reason that mileage goes in the toilet. That's about what I get: around 12-14 normal driving and 8-12 while towing.

PS. who's custom tunes are those?

the tunes were done by leadfoot diesel in loganville, ga.

i'm going check my ECM code on the SCT and figure out which one I have.....i've been reading about the ones that have been known to fry your FICM

I'll be sure to figure that out. I know Power Hungry Performance in Winder, GA does remote programming of your FICM and ECM rollback for a price. They'll send you everything you need to do it so you won't have to make the drive.

How difficult is this to do? I'm mechanically inclined, but going from a 12valve cummins to this 6.0L is CRAZY! there's so much more going on in there.....but I LIKE IT!

While I have never done it, the instructions do not sound very difficult. PHP is great as far as customer service as well, so if you have any questions, Bill will definitely help you out.

yeah....I plan on going to their dyno day towards the end of May so I can talk w/ Bill about things and hang out! I love dyno days!

P.S. I Cannot find the ECM / FICM info on the SCT to save my life. Any ideas where it is?
