Ive got a 1994 Bronco that is a retired sheriffs truck, it has the 5.8L and its 4x4. The problem is when the truck shifts gears while riding down the road it slams gears so hard that if your fillings aren't attached your going to swallow them. Sometimes I can jump in it and it will shift smoothly without any problems but more times then not it slams gears and if I accelerate hard the torque converter will release and the truck just revs. Its been a great vehicle and I know the tranny as well as some other things are pretty well shot, being an old sheriffs truck its been ridin hard and put away wet more times then not. but if anyone has any ideas to prolong its life a little longer it would be greatly appriciated. its my farm truck and see's maybe 2,000mi a year if that.
