Did my badges yesterday took less time then i thought. i am planning on painting my grill today as well any helpfull hints. i figure it will take me the better part of 5 hours. is 2 primer coats and 3 top coats enough?
It took me about 2 hours to do mine. I kinda rushed it though. Took it off, lightly sanded it down, hosed it off, let it dry, taped off the FORD embellem, primered one coat of flat black, lightly sanded after it was dry, wiped it off with a damp cloth, painted it with some flat black bumper paint, let it dry, and reinstalled. It was pretty easy but I'm going to redo it. I need to sand it a little better and do more coats. But it looks AWESOME!
all done came out pretty good took me just around 4.5 hours heres a before and after i am going to put the clear lamps and the other corner in the morning then it will really be done.
I have always wanted to paint it wasnt sure what color white or black and i painted my badges yesterday cause the paint was pealing so i did that while i felt like working. i think ill have the bumpers poweder coated as well havent made up my mind..
if you can afford it get them powder coated... i painted mine and it looks really good esp cause it matches the grill but i know its only temporary fix for me because im gonna get new bumpers that can handle a 12k winch.....
