well i got to thinking, why can't i remove my CCV and use an after market filter type CCV. like in this link, if anyone has good reasons why not to use it let me know cause i really am sick of oil in the intake and i don't want it shot all over the back of the engine or on the ground.

That would probably work. I have a 3/4 " hose running down under the truck along the outside of the frame. It ends near the middle of the front doors. I get more oil off of the road than from the CCV. I didn't find any signs of oil accumilating under the truck. Just a little bit was on the end of the hose.

I too have a 3/4 line run to the back bumper. Never any oil on the ground, truck, or anywhere. I did see on here where someone put together a filter system similar to what you are looking at , and the backpressure (the filter not allowing the ccv gasses to flow freely enuff) caused him some issues. I will look and see if I can find that link.

well what im worried about is the crankcase not being able to build negative pressure...i read a thread on here that someone left their oil fill cap off and they had a ton of problems because it couldn't build negative pressure and thats what im worried about with these breathers...id put two of them in the two holes in the VC's that the stock CCV connects to.
