oil galley plugs in block????

I was wondering, I have a small oil leak, Its most likely the back of the oil pan. Its very minor But i was looking around and noticed theres a pipe plug in the block on driver side. There are 3 of them. I believe one of them is the plug you remove to see what rods you have. Theres a real small one like 1/8 inch thread. That small one was not tight. I went to back it out to use a sealant on the threads but poil started leaking. SO I just tightened it. I am thinking maybe oil was barely getting out under pressure when the motor was running.
Are there similar plugs on the pass side of the block? These would have to be just behind the starter next to the back of the block? I dont want to pull the starter to look for a plug if theres none there. The 2nd bolt up from the bottom of the bell housing had oil on it. This is about an inch behind the small oil galley plug on drivers side. The other side is similar.
thx

Are you sure something isn't leaking in the valley and not the back of the oil pan? From what I have read, most of the oil leaks into the engine valley and then drains out of the valley drain hole at the back of the engine, which then gets all over the pan, etc.

the valley is dry. The valve cover gaskets I sealed down too. I can actually see the bck of those from the under side. They are dry too. The leak is just enough to get the back of the pan shiny wet. Nothing major. This pipe plug on drivers side was not all the way down and tight. It was loose. I figured maybe i would get lucky and its one of these.
thx
