I have a 05 f350 dump. Well it has gone through 4 fuel pumps and a motor. first time it died it was towed in Ford replaced pump saying water in fuel blew it. Second time same thing. Third time dealer got truck started and drove it without draining fuel and blew the motor. Don't really understand how water could blow motor but it did. Was running when brought in barely they drove it down highway and blew it and said it was out of warranty. Needless to say it has a new motor with 5000 miles from junk yard installed by different dealership. Was fine for month now another pump went said to be fuel in tank. No one can figure out how it is getting there including dealer and myself. Any thoughts how it is getting there also will water blow a pump. No it isn't where I get fuel because no problems with my other diesels. Thanks,Mark

Water in After Axle Fuel Tank, 99-06 Cab and Chassis:
Water present in the 40 gallon rear fuel tank on trucks with 7.3 or 6.0 PowerStroke engines may be due to snow and ice accumulating on top of the tank. As the snow and ice melts, the water may be drawn into the "mushroom" fuel tank vent cap. The original vent cap should be replaced with a vent line kit, P/N 5C3Z-9S327-A. The kit comes with a hose, which should be routed to the crossmember forward of the fuel tank, and a new vent cap. The vent cap should be positioned horizontally to prevnt moisture from collecting in it.
