First of all this site rocks! This is my first post and I am looking for to install some gauges in my truck. What brand works and looks the best in an '06, looking for a pyro, boost, and fuel preasure. What mount works the best? Does any one make a mount that does not require the factory a-pillar?
Thanks in advance!
You should already have a boost gauge, which I believe is accurate. The tranny temp gauge is not.
I like my gauges, they're ISSPRO's...
If I were to do it again though I might go with a Quadzilla Commander though, you don't loose your Apillar oSHYT bar and it has alerts when you go over desired #'s...
Does the commander have trans, water, egt - - all three? Where is the best place to mount it? I positively hate anything that does not look stock, as a result, I am thinking about the pillar deal, but I hate doing that if I could mount the commander & have it look halfway decent & not like some stick on, audiovox, some such... You know what I mean. This anal retentive thing is a curse, I tell ya.
The other thing I like about the pillar deal is that all three are always in sight. I wouldn't have to "click" on the one I want, or does the commander display all three at one time?
Mine is still on the pedastal, but of course we have the pillar mounts too. One day when I get time to work on my truck I will probably mount it on the pillar. I may also put the NOS switch up there too. The pedastal has worked just fine for almost a year now.
I've seen some posts on the board citing reliability problems. Is this a common issue? Does the commander come with everything-(thermocouple, connection for tranny temp, water temp, etc?) This thing is starting to appeal to me if mounted with their a-pillar mount. It looks like a more efficient deal than separate gauges, and you get to keep the handle mounted, right?
