i bought y truck wrecked and the driver side radius arm bushing have been changed. i think the were put in backwards so i bought a new set but i need to find and exploded view of how to properly install the new ones. anyone know what site i could use to find one?
ok...follow going from the front axle to the final nut of the assembly.
front axle, radius arm, (1 st part of kit)large washer, (2nd part of kit)the next part is the first bushing, large part of the bushing forward. The "nose" into and beyond the bracket that is attached to the frame and from there there is TWO different kind of back bushings, sometimes it's it a one piece sometimes it's a two piece...then a large washer then last but not least the retaining nut.
hope this helps
Sometimes this can not be a easy job expecially in a 4x4 truck--All I can say is sometimes it is easier to LOOSEN or remove the spring bolts top and bottom to allow the arm to move a little to get enough movement to get the bushings in there.
thanks for the info. we're changing the springs as well so they coming loose anyway. the driver side coil is collapsed. and possibly bent the knuckle of the I-beam. im praying that its not but its not lookin good.
Remove the lower shock absorber pivot bolt and compress the front shock absorber.
Remove the nut and washer retaining the radius arm to the radius arm bracket. Remove the outer insulator and spacer.
Move the radius arm and axle assembly forward out of the radius arm bracket.
Remove the inner insulator and retainer.
INSTALLATION
Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
Tighten radius arm-to-radius arm bracket nut to 113-153 Nm (83-113 ft. lbs.). Tighten shock bolt to 60-80 Nm (44-59 ft. lbs.).
