please let me know and refer me to data i may be interested in
Welcome to the .Org the only thing you should be aware of those engines 7.3l is the CPS going out sometimes ....other than that they are great engines.... work it hard and enjoy it
cps? thanks for the replies guys. its my first truck ive got a mustang and its done me pretty good. any ideas for me when i take off the 8 in leaf spring and blocks to lower it before i get a 4inch suspension lift? thanks for the quick reply
your gonna lower your truck? if you do put a 4" susp lift you wont be able to fit those 37" tires CPS (crankshaft position sensor) why do you want to drop your truck?
Howdy and welcome to the site!
CPS = Cam Position Sensor. If your lucky it will give you a warning it is going south on you. In my case my truck "stuttered" acted like it would shut down then pick up power again. For a lot of people the engine just shuts down and thats it, until it is replaced. You will read where a lot of people carry a spare one in the truck. You can find them relatively inexpensive on Ebay.
I don't really have much experience with lifts so I can't help you out too much there. But someone else will sooner or later.
Thanks for serving,
Craig
if and when i move back to pa the headlights are supposed to be no more than 32 inches from the middle or something like that... 8 inches of body lift is too much... i like the looks but you know. i plan on going with new wheels and tires probably 35's but ill be in idaho for atleast 3 years so stacks and rhino liner is going to be before that probably a chip too
ah k... that law applies here in cali too... but most of us just pay the fine when we get it which is not that often just when a cop is in a bad mood lol... the fine is i think around 300-500 bucks cant remember... its a fix it ticket but it would cost more to drop the truck than to just pay the fine.....get some pics of that bad boy so we can check it out
thanks guys, i was up in the mt this afternoon in it. maintained dirt roads and out on the beach at a lake. anyone from boise id or surrounding area or chambersburg pa surrounding area
thanks for the complement on the rig. the wife takes it to work more often than i do because of diesel costs but come the weekend its play time
:welcome1: Welcome to the forum! Nice to see somebody else from Idaho, even if you just stuck here temorarily. Looks like the Air Force suckered another with Mountain Home. They thought that Mountain Home sounde better than the original name, Rattle Snake Gulch. The original town is north of the freeway and last time I was through there the sign from the old town was still up.
Any way this is good place to learn about the PSD. The 7.3 is a good engine, just be sure to have a CPS with you, just in case.
