Sorry for the dumb question, but you're looking to cut off your steel bedsides and replace with fiberglass, right? And front fenders too?
Do they make that for our trucks with or without flare?
How much weight can that actually shed from total weight?:dunno:
At least with fiberglass-it won't rust!:hehe:
Sounds like a good idea, but will 4 to 500lbs.(guessing on weight)really save that much on fuel costs?:dunno:
Plus on top of that, how much to cut off old sides,fit/bolt/or glue on fib.sides, then cost of paint?
Plus same on fenders-Not sure if it's worth weight vs.cost?
I've been out of the body shop world for over 10 years now-so I have no idea what costs are now.:dunno:
You bring up a very good point-and is worth looking into!:thumb:
Let us know what you find out!:thumb:

I would be doing all the work my self. Also I have cutouts on my truck and wanted to get rid of them.

I know how to weld enough to put new bed sides on and I am halfway decent at laying down some paint so I could make it work. Also saving 500 lbs would be awesome that is an extra 500 lbs or load capacity my truck would have.

Sounds good,I like the idea, the less weight definitely sounds better, but will less weight in the back cause any traction issues in rain or snow?:dunno:
How much weight do you think we can shed?Don't know -that's why I'm curious,
You've got me thinking alot about this:thumb:
Being able to lay down own paint is definitely a big plus!

You lookin' to sell to get one of those 2011's,from what I read, they're pretty sweet, but waaay out of my budget!
But I wouldn't sell because of these *****les running this country and fuel rates going up-this battle's far from over yet !
But if you're gonna sell, what kind of price are you looking for?

I had that exact thing happen on my BTS, they were great to deal with and stood behind their trans. I had a trans in a few days after mine bit the dust because of clogging in the cooler.

I put on a spin-on filter kit from dieselsite after that breakdown for some extra insurance.
