Took my truck in today to get a bed liner sprayed in and tires rotated and balanced. When they went to start it, it would start then die suddenly. We tried several times with the same result. It's now at the dealership. This is the second time this has happened (same symptoms) within the last 3 weeks. The first time they said they replaced the fuel pump. One thing in common: I was down to about 50 miles in range according to the computer.

Has anyone else encountered, or aware of someone who has encountered, a similar set of circumstances?

i had the same amount of fuel, shut mine off, then its never started sence. if it sits for a couple hours and you try to start it, it will fire up to about 700 RPM, then fall down around 200 RPM, then die. It turns over dumping white, gray, and black smoke.......im on day 5 of this headache and i dont even want to turn to ford for help because i can never find a dealer worth a sh!t

Mine is in the shop for the exact same problem. This is the 3rd time it has done it. 1st time fuel pump wiring harness, about 100 miles later fuel sending unit. Now they don't have a clue what is going on. As the truck is running fine now and no codes. Replacing fuel injector o-rings now per Ford Hotline. Mine had just a little over 1/4 tank when this happened. Truck started and idled for about 10 seconds and died with the wrench lit up.
