I have a 99 250 4x4. The truck has 150,000 on it and the trans was rebuilt 35,000 mi ago. Only within the last 3 weeks I have been seeing elevated trans temps. i changed the fluid last week and the filter was pretty dirty as i suspected, but when i dropped the pan, two bolts fell off the valve body. i put them back in and torqued them to spec. also i noticed a few of the other bolts were loose too. when i went to tighten them, some of them tighten up, but a couple just kept spinning. i think that i am getting these elevated temps because the fluid is spraying out back into the pan without going through the cooler. is this right? the bolts rattling out and the ones that won't tighten scare me. what should i do? Also, on the highway the other day after driving for about 200 mi, the overdrive button started blinking.
