Who all has gone from a cc to a ex. cab on here??? any regrets?? ive been looking into gettin a 6.4 ex cab short bed but im not sure how much i would miss the extra space. i dont need it now but im thinking for the future (kids some day) so who all has made the switch???
My neices car seat fits in my ex cab back seat just fine in the middle. I've never wished I had a crew cab, I prefer the look of the ext cab over the crew cab in any bed length, just a personal preference.
I rarely have anyone in the backseat, I know its not the most comfortable, but unless I was planning several long trips with family in the back seat, I'd always buy a ext cab. Theres pleanty of room for tools and whatever else back there.
I say do it. If a family isn't on the immediate horizon, you'll probably be swappin trucks again before you need it anyway...thats what I'm plannin on anyway.
i rarly use my back seat anyways unless im stayin the night at a party i fit pretty comfy back there. but really nobody rides back there. honestly, id be fine with a reg cab truck but like having the space inside.
I'm on the oposite end of the spectrum. I have an excab and I REALLY want a crew cab. My wife's truck is an excab too so we don't really have a "family" vehicle. Junior is almost 6' tall so a crew cab for her is on the horizon. Excab is NOT enough room for even just the three of us never mind if you include luggage etc.
The supercabs on these trucks are huge compared to the dodge ones. I'm 6'4" and i can fit in my backseats very comfortably. I regularly have 4-6 people in my truck at a time and no one has ever complained on leg room even the people sitting behind me when i have my seat most of the way back.
Also as far as storage space goes whenever i come home from college or am going back i can always fit all of my stuff in the back with the seat folded up. That includes a tv, laundry basket, multiple backpacks, food, etc.
Oh and she's a little easier to park than your DRW there lol
ya its kinda not fun sometimes when it comes to parking haha my gf always says "why do you have to park way back here, we passed like 6 spots..." she just doesnt get that if its not a full width spot, im not fittin lol
i wish i had an extended cab long box. i like having 4 doors but i love having a longbed. i am kind of thinking about making my back doors suicide's though :woot:. but idk how convenient and easy htat would be to get in and out in a parking lot lol. but who knows. we almost got a black ex lb but we got this instead.
I am on my 3rd supercab now. I took out the whole back seat so its wide open for tools or dogs or whatever. I love the supercab with a long bed. Very nice being able to carry my Yamaha Rhino in the truck and not have to get a trailer for it. I'm dissappointed in the 01 crew cab I got that the back seat doesn't fold up, that takes up alot of floor room for sure and I rarely ever have anyone in the truck besides me.
I wished from the beginning that I had bought a CC. I was much younger and had no kids when I bought my super cab, and didn't feel it was worth the extra money. I got married shortly there after, and now have 2 kids, and could surely use the extra space now. Buying a new cc at this point isn't practical, because the price of these trucks has increased dramatically, and the one I have is paid for, and still very usable. IMO keep the CC if you can. A SRW short bed would be much easier to park.
I had an extended cab short bed and liked the looks better, but it didnt have enough room for my liking. I am 22 with a gf no kids or dogs, very rarely do I use the back seat but I like the space much more then the ex cab. I would not buy a truck with anything other then crew cab unless it would be a work truck. Thats just me I like a lot of room.
My very first truck, a 2004 F150 was a Ext. Cab and I traded it in almost immediately for a 2005 F150 Crew Cab. I loved the way the 2004 Ext. Cab looked, but I keep my tool box behind the driver seat and I found it inconvenient to keep opening 2 doors to get at my tools or to get anything into the back seat area. There was plenty of room back there, that wasn't the issue, but I found it to be more convenient just to open the one larger door. Also, I do have kids and it was a pain to get them to go back there and also, there was many times if their friends got in, someone closed the front door first and crashed the smaller suicide door into the closed front door, it definitely didn't work well for me. My F250 Crew Cab SB is the perfect configuration for me.
