Thanks i really couldnt find to much when i did the search. The other problem is i spent a 100 bucks on the mobil1 ATF and now i have to see if i can flush it myself or pay the dealership 250 bucks.

I bet that you are frustrated, but a hundred bucks down the ****ter is nothing compared to repairing a transmission. Like I said before, you are lucky you noticed your mistake.

The only issue with flushing a transmission is you need to have some pressurized method of forcing the fluid throughout the torque converter. Just pouring oil through the fill tube will not flush the old fluid out but rather just mix the fluid and therefore you will never know if/when you have evacutated the old fluid.

Also, flushing the transmission will use A LOT more fluid than just the recommended fill capacity. $250.00 is not a bad price.

You could always drop the tranny and manually drain the converter.

Like I said, $250 is a lot of money, but not a bad price.

Good luck.

just found this

TECH TIPS TO THE FORD DEALERS

Approval to Service ALL 5R110 Automatic Transmissions with MERCON® LV
Beginning immediately ALL (2003 to 2010 MY) 5R110 automatic transmissions can be serviced with
MERCON® LV automatic transmission fluid in place of MERCON® SP.
Initially only the 2009/10MY 5R110 automatic transmissions were filled and serviced with MERCON® LV.
In an effort to reduce complexity, Ford Motor Company is allowing all previous model year 5R110
automatic transmissions to be serviced with MERCON® LV automatic transmission fluid. This pertains to
top off as well as fluid replacement. Mixing of MERCON® LV and MERCON® SP in the 5R110
transmission is acceptable. Extensive testing has been performed to insure there are no functional or
durability concerns with the use of MERCON® LV in the 5R110 automatic transmission.
Vehicles affected are F-Series Super Duty trucks (including chassis cab, motorhome, LCF).
