Hey guys,

Just got some new ICON 2.0 shocks for the truck and wanted to know what are most guys running and reasons for. Are you running shocks with or without the boots and I think you would run the bodyside up and shafts down on these shocks right. Thanks for your help.

I dont belive i have ever seen a rusty shock shaft. Does the shaft rust?

Leave the boots off, they do more harm than good, plus they're ugly lol.

FYI......Icon's lifetime warranty does not cover the finish on the body, nor does Bilstein for that matter.

Most shock shafts are either chrome or nitrosteel.....the chrome ones will pit if they get some good rock chips on them. Nitrosteel is harder than chrome and lasts longer in salt spray tests.

Thanks guys. I'll be leaving them off this time and see how it goes. Truck is going in the shop Monday to get the new shocks installed, ICON 6" blocks in rear, 1" TEI spacer up front, new dynatrac ball joints, and an edge insight. Cant wait to see how much better they ride.
