ok i was at the sled pulls saturday and i ran my truck on the dyno and i was putin my wheel back on and a guy with a dually like mine walked up and was tellin me that if i had headstuds and a intake my run would have been higher like how much power dose a intake give you ive never really seen much after ive put one on
Well maybe if you had studs you could have run a stud tune but thats really the only thing that would make a power difference, the stock intake sucks plenty of air for what you have.
The stock filter and intake setup will outperform just about everything else on the market and will cost you less money in maintenance in the long run.
+1 about studs, gaskets, and a stud tune making more power than what you have now.
Well this guy had just the sct with the canned tunes not custom tunes and studs and in take on 35s so he thout with that setup he was goin to have high numbers
Matt at spartan dyno tested a lot of tunes on a 6.0 high hp and all and said there was zip, zero, zilch on the dyno with the stock turbo. It is said that untill you are putting 500-550rwhp you don't need one. That would equate to roughly 155cc injectors and a 64mm turbo (500ish rwhp) and 190cc injectors and say a vgtss (550ish rwhp)
I believe it. And at that point, most of the aftermarket filters probably don't have the dirt loading capacity to actually flow more air over stock for more than a few thousand miles before their restriction reaches unacceptable levels.
well i put down 408hp and 841tq on xtrme race he would never got get on the dyno but he told me and my frineds that he was goin to put more hp the me with the canned sct and studs and intake i had all that on my old white deully but i had custom tunes and a intake elbow and i was on 35s and i never got over 390hp cuz the 35s i was on stock tires when i ran my new truck
