I have a friend with a 6.0 PSD and he replaced 4 injectors that were bad. The truck has obviously quieter engine noise, but throttle response is down ie turbo lag. There was zero turbo lag before the injector change. Does it need reflashed to have optimal performance?
We are just stumped as to why the truck performed better before he took it in (originally for a check engine light). The dealership said there were 3 bad injectors so he replaced all 4. Also they said the ICP needs replaced (probably causing the check engine light) so it was replaced as well. Right at a $2000 bill and the truck is sluggish. The stealership doesn't think there is a problem.
The dealership said they were bad. My friend agreed with that because the truck sounds like it fires up on 5 cylinders and the rest pick up right after start-up.
Or reflash needed for the ICP change? Or will the truck "learn" the changes as the dealership says? It's sure got a lot of lag to work out right now. Is it going to ever get there?
I replaced my ICP sensor in my driveway and the truck ran perfectly normal after that was done. I've sometimes disconnected both batteries and turn the key to on position then shut it back off and let it sit for a half hour. Then reconnect the cables it will force the truck to "relearn" and might help. i've had to do this before on gas cars I've owned after fixing issues or replacing parts.
good luck
More than likely it got its FICM reflashed. That's probably where your problem is.
I'd check with the dealer on the reflash.
