After a long search of nothing, I came up with my own how to. I searched this site and others and have not really found much info. A friend of mine had a spare set of f250 side vents and he said he would give them to me. And that is why I decided to take mine off and not worry about braking a clip or too. The spare set could come in handy if I did. I took my time and everything worked out great. I really want harley vents and will probably switch over to them eventually. Ford i$ really proud of them though.:thumb:
Step 1-The emblem is two pieces so you will need to pry the name badge off. Slightly painful on the finger tips but this is the safest way to do it.
Step 2-After the name plate is removed you will need to tug on the side of the vent to remove it from the fender.
Should look like this when everything is removed.
Step 3-Next you will need to separate the vent red vent from the chrome surround. The red vent is held in by two little flat clips. Looks similar to a washer. I used a pick tool.
Step-4 You should have three separated pieces per side. And now you can get to sanding.
I used 400 grit sand paper and a medium grit sanding block.
I also used duplicolor trim paint(almost flat black)and duplicolor wheel paint which is very close to ford's dark shadow gray color.
Gray Vents
Black Bezels
They are not on the truck just yet. I am going to let everything dry tonight and assemble them sometime tomorrow.:thumb:
