my truck runs great and starts great. its a 05 f350 with the 6.0. after cranking it and letting it run for a few minutes, when i start up the road it feels like its skipping, is this normal in a diesel when its not a operating temprature? thanks

Sounds like injector stiction. Oil resin built up in the injector(s) due to high temp and pressure or oil breakdown from extended oil change intervals. Once the injectors warm up, the resin softens and the injectors begin operating normally.

When its cold it will not run the same as when its at operating temps. I cant let it run a few minutes then jump in and jump on the highway and let it rip. I get the same thing. I spoke with my tech after I had some issues which were fixed and he asked me when it was doing this and that and referring to the lack of power when its cold was because it is not at operating temps.

If you have injector sticking you would have a rough idle also. From what you are describing it sounds like your pushing it too hard when its cold.
