Well i've been sick for the past week with double inner ear infection's(yeah, you realy needed to know that) Any way I've had some time to let my mind wonder and wondered upon this. If, you can run a Snow water injection system on a diesel, why do we have water seperators on our truck's? Almost the same thing right? And wouldnt that water cause some rust some where when it's injected?
i'm not sure where those water injection systems go into the engine, but i think it might be separate from the fuel system, and that rust issue is why its not connected to the fuel system...and why the fuel filter has a separator...don't quote me on that cause i don't have a water injection system...
The water injection might be through the air intake.... Not through the injectors, as water hitting a hot injector will blow the tip right off of it... Ruin your morning for sure....
yeah it's seperate from the fuel. but for some reason i just had to ask. my WIF light has never come on so i'm just wondering how much water there realy is/can be in diesel fuel. i know there's no way around some water being in there.
The injection for the Snow Performance Water/meth takes place in the intake tube. It's a combination of water and methonal. In gas form it helps the diesel fuel burn way more efficiently because meth is a combustable. My intake is mostly plasti and my turbo is stainless so rust isn't an issue. Not too mention there's enough oil in the intake system to keep it lubed really well. Take off one of your boost tubes and take a look at the oil inside. By the time the engine burns the fuel there's no water left in the exhaust.
Water in the fuel is completely different. You dilute the fuel and actually retard the combustion. With water/meth injection you are getting straight diesel and the water is carrying a combustable, meth.
