I've fought with this intake for over 2 hours and cannot get the 3 plastic prongs to drop down into the rubber mounts. If I put the intake in without the pipe that connects to the turbo I can get it to fit down in just fine, but as soon as I try to put it all together it seems like everything is way too tight to get it to fit down into the mounts properly. Anyone got any suggestions. Getting the DPF out and the AFE exhaust installed was a lot less frustrating than this intake.
Should have went with afe more money but very easy to install and clean.
I had the same problem its really a pain in the ***. Now try to imagine cleaning the filter! The dam filter doesn't even fit through the plastic viewing window. You have to unscrew the 2 large bolts and twist it upwards and worry about it loosening the other connections:doh::doh: At least this has been my own experience:crazy: No help other help I can offer but to tell you to push it in harder ha ha ha
I only install that pipe if the customer wants it in. It is a hot air tube from the turbo. It is a little tight to install but if you push the tube as far in as you can, close to the bend it will squeeze in there. I don't run hot air intakes in any truck I build.
^^^ what he said. I left mine off unless I'm putting it back to stock. No need to run hot air into my cold air intake. Even when I am running the Ford air box, I leave it out..
I tried it dry- then greased them worked like a charm
