I'm going to jump on a 7.3L once I find one that I like. But engine longevity is something I havent figured out yet. Whats an estimate on the lifespan of a well taken care of 7.3 engine? I've heard these things go for close to 500k. I just think that if I buy one around 80-90k that I will still get a good chunk of life out of it. Mileage isn't a big issue since I live 14 miles round trip from where I work.
The 7.3's are pretty much bullet proof if you maintain them properly. I would say that 500K is a good estimate, but I would bet it will go further than that.
if its been as well maintained for as you say it will hit 500k or more. you will likely replace everything else on that truck before the motor. my OBS has 287k and rust on the body. runs strong.
