You don't need a lift to run 22.5's (look at all the lowered Superduty's on 22.5's), but you're right in that its not cheap. The rims alone are between $500 and $700 EACH. And then you need adaptor plates to go from 8 lug to 10 lug (another $800 total). And you still need tires.
