No loss of power. truck is running great except that it has just begun to vibrate at 65mph and the turbo sounds like a fan that a kid stuck a flat head screwdriver in just for a second. Does anybody have any idea why my turbo is making this noice at different rpms. When it starts I can hold the rpms that the noice begins and it will continue as long as I hold the rpms at the same number. If I let it go down or throttle up the sound goes away and I have to find it again at a different rpm. weirdest thing. Both these issues started this afternoon. Thanks for any inputs.

Sounds like it's probably be worn out. You could rebuild it or source another one. Take the intake off and look for wear from the wheel on the housing, also see if you can move the wheel in or out, or up and down. If you have or see any of these things it's worn out and the above solutions apply.

Truck is a 2005 with 41 k on it. Could a turbo need a rebuild that early. Shoot its under warranty still till June 2010. Looks like I'll take it in to the Stealership

Crap, I did it again. Pulled the thread off the front page and forgot to look which section it was in. I was thinking 7.3L. Sorry bud. I don't know with the vgt turbo. Sounds like it might be possible, but let some other guys that know more about the 6.0's get in here and they should help you out. Sorry I do that every once in awhile even though I try and remember to look first..

That's exactly what mine did today. Builds boost to around 15 psi then makes a real loud vibrating noise until you let out. Mine is junk and has less than 25k on it. Pull the intake tube off so you can see the impeller wheel. I'll bet it's chewed up from getting into the case and probably has a lot of shaft play.

I remember a post way back you put up with vid. of your truck after your swap. I dont remember if you got a reman or did you get a used one?

25k seems pretty short for a turbo on any vehicle at all.

After driving to work this morning. I don't think it's the turbo. It sounds like a bird chirping at a fast speed at all different rpms. Doesn't do it under hard throttle or light throttle. Seems to be more prevalant around 1500 to 1800 rpm while cruising. And this is just sometimes. All most sounds like something is loose like a heat shield or something. Just a chirping/rattling. I looked over everything and it all looks tight. If I powerbrake it it doesnt make the chirping/rattling either. Anybody got any ideas:dunno:
