i have a 05powerstroke and found out that i have a bad oil cooler and egr cooler... had loss of antifreeze, it was coming out the cap of the resirve, blowed white smoke ever once in awhile when i started it and now when i start it, it blowes a bunch of smoke that smells sweet but after a few min it disappears. so i have been looking online and on forums about ppl having the same problem. some have gotten an egr cooler delete kit and i was wondering which would be beter for me to do... relpace egr cooler or jus replace the oil cooler n not the egr cooler and get a delete for it.. n i found egr upgrades and was woundering bout putting one on too.. i was also wondering how trucks ran after the delete kit/egr upgrade... if it affected the fuel milage..? power of the truck..? and if it blew less or more black smoke..?

i really like my truck it is awesome but i really dont want this problem to b repetitive  :dunno:

Just had exactly the same problem with the addition of head gasket failure due to the cracked EGR cooler. I had the kit from First Coast installed and it's great. It went on with no problems and the truck runs great, more responsive on the throttle, and I really like knowing that crap is not on the engine any more.

I also got great service from Adam at First Coast. I don't think you'll be disapponted if you go this route.
